How the BBC Present Egypt - Vs The Truth

Back in February, a female reporter for CBS, Lara Logan, was sexually assaulted by crowds in Cairo. This was the beginning of the 'Arab Spring'. The BBC tried to avoid reporting it, but with so many other media outlets doing so, in the end they had no choice.

In the last 2 days another 2 female journalists have been sexually assaulted, and true to form, the BBC avoids reporting it, preferring to project that all problems there are being resolved and it's really a true 'Arab Spring'. On their main webpage about Egypt today, they have their own Lyse Doucet telling us

The BBC's Lyse Doucet in Tahrir Square says the carnival atmosphere returned to the demonstrations after a truce was agreed to end the violence seen earlier in the week.

People are letting off fireworks and shouting "Down with the military regime," she says.

Perhaps if she gets assaulted in a similar way she won't think it's such a 'carnival atmosphere'.

Here's what the BBC are not telling you

He writes an article today telling how the Islamists in Egypt have rigged the elections there using a variety of ploys.

Read the article first and then we'll see how the BBC, anxious to portray Arab Spring as a 'democratic' process, have presented these facts. Bear in mind that any attempt to consciously and purposefully portray corruption and coercion as democratic assists the rise of terrorism, and shares responsibility for all the deaths, violence, and misery that follows in its wake.



You get the drift.
Reading today's article by the BBC 'Egypts new assembly elects Muslim Brotherhood speaker'', there is absolutely no mention of any hint that these elections might be tainted. In fact it tells us Held over three phases between 28 November and 11 January, the parliamentary elections were considered the freest in Egyptian history. The only hint of 'evil doing' on events there by the BBC concerns the previous regime.

Since Mohammed ElBaradei is certainly one of the highest profile figures involved in events there, and who directly stepped down from contesting these elections because of 'his perceptions that they were rigged'. He must have been hoping that the world media would focus on this, but he couldn't have been more disappointed by that it received from the BBC.



Just look again at how the real issues are obscured or diminished in these lines

"My conscience does not permit me to run for the presidency or any other official position unless it is within a democratic framework," he said.

The BBC's Jon Leyne, in Cairo, says the comments are fairly damning, coming from someone with such international prestige.

However, Mr ElBaradei's critics will say he never stood much chance of becoming president, our correspondent adds.

Mr ElBaradei had wanted a new constitution to be drawn up from scratch before any elections took place.
Even on the liberal wing of Egyptian politics, feelings about Mr ElBaradei are very mixed, our correspondent says.

So that's it?

You know when the BBC want to highlight a particular facet for any cause they back, they will repeat it in every article they run on the subject. Like for example, any story to do with Israel settlements has the addendum that 'they are illegal are under international law, though Israel rejects this'.

Here they don't even bother to mention it at all.

There is quite a similarity between the mindset of Islamists and Left-Wingers. Both need a predictable and consistent path to follow despite any other logic or reason to confound it. So I understand and agree exactly with where you're coming from on the subject.

I don't know if you're familiar with Walid Shoebat, an ex-Palestinian trained suicide bomber who 'saw the light' before he committed the deed he was brainwashed to perform. He now spends much of his time trying to spread the word to others and 'wake them up' to the evils of Islam, as well as inform the general public on what is really going on in the Islamic world.

One of the 'realisations' is recognition of how terrorism works. It is natural for anybody to apply their own way of thinking to another to consider 'what must have happened to make them act or think that way?'. This is why so many in our society really believe that militant Islamics have a real grudge against the West for our own 'wrong-doings, and that we need to change more in line with the Muslim point of view. We can only think that they must be really angry to act this way, when in fact the truth is far from that.

These Islamics are brainwashed from an early age, within a society of similar thinking beings, controlled by despots and clerics to believe that 'this is how they have to be'. You have to imagine what it must be like to first have to live in a society like that, and to consider that if you were perceived to 'think or act differently', or in any way independently, that you would face severe punishment. The purpose of the despots and clerics is to attain greater power and control, and prevent their own people turning against them.
This is predominantly the Islamic world of today.

Without a doubt there are many in Gaza and the West Bank who do not support Hamas or Fatah, and would rather have a secular moderate government running things.
But they know if they were to speak out for their beliefs they would immediately be labelled as Israeli collaborators, and publicly executed without further trial. Because it is the extremists who have the power, they dominate the politics. Those who do support them, do so because they are brainwashed to think that way, and unless and until anything comes along to undo that brainwashing, they will continue their agenda.
