"1605: The Catholic 'Gunpowder Plot' to assassinate James I is discovered and Guy Fawkes is arrested."
I complained about this last year and they amended it accordingly to include the word 'disaffected'. If you click on history you can see the change, however it is still showing on the front page.
I have no problem with them calling it Catholic, but then they should call terrorist attacks by Muslims as such, which as we all know, they refuse to do.
"Dear Mr REMOVED, Thank you for your email. I have reviewed the text and agree that the wording of this particular On This Day entry needs amending. The amendment should be made sometime within the next 24 hours. Best regards, (REMOVED) Editor, Specialist Factual www.bbc.co.uk/history www.bbc.co.uk/sn Multiplatform Productions BBC Vision

You have stated; "1605: The Catholic 'Gunpowder Plot' to assassinate James I is discovered and Guy Fawkes is arrested". However, this Gunpowder plot was not commissioned by the Pope or Vatican, hence it was a catholic working on it's own. I'm surprised that you also don't describe the 7/7 london bombings as the 'Muslim 7/7 bombings'

I see from the link www.bbc.co.uk/history you provided that it shows the lead to the story with 'disaffected' in it, but I'm not sure what you meant by 'front page' where supposedly it is not showing. Do you have a link? When I clicked on the story title The Gunpowder Plot on the link you provided it showed the relevant webpage as unavailable so maybe they are amending it.
Good anyway you managed to get them to change it, and you're quite right about them avoiding using 'Muslim' when reporting on 7/7 in similar context.
