I'm not saying that it's only in the BBC world that actors might behave like this, though I can recall Blue Peter presenters also caught doing illegal acts, but it's fair to think that if the BBC was performing according to its charter the atmosphere would be more likely to deter it.
What on earth could the moron in this story have been thinking to do such a thing?

Weeding out punishment: Pictures emerge of EastEnders actor Ricky Norwood smoking marijuana as he is set to have 'serious' meeting with BBC bosses
By Tania Willis
Pictures have emerged of EastEnders actor Ricky Norwood smoking a marijuana cigarette on Skype.
The shocking images show the 28-year-old actor inhaling the illegal substance from a lit cigarette whilst peering into his webcam.
The images come from a video conversation the actor had, which has reportedly left BBC bosses feeling very concerned and keen to get to 'the bottom' the issue.
Ricky, who was a contestant on last year’s Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special, is to be called into a meeting to face 'serious disciplinary action' next week following the emergence of the eight-and-a-half-minute film, which allegedly shows Ricky performing a sex act while naked and smoking the drug.
The clip, which appears to be shot in his kitchen during a conversation on online telephone service Skype, is also said to have been touted for sale to an X-rated website.
The London born actor has played Arthur 'fatboy' Chubb in the soap since 2010, and won award for Best Newcomer for the role in 2010 at the Inside Soap Awards and Most Popular Newcomer at the 2011 National Television Awards.
The clip, which was shot during a conversation on online telephone service Skype, is also said to have been touted for sale to an X-rated website.
An EastEnders source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: 'He's being hauled in on Monday so we can get to the bottom of this. Nobody's happy about it - he's let himself and the show down.'
A spokeswoman for EastEnders admitted show bosses will hold a meeting with Ricky to talk about the clip.
She told MailOnline: 'We will be meeting with Ricky early next week to discuss this matter. We are unable to comment any further at this stage.'
Meanwhile, a TV insider has hit out at the star's actions in the video.
A source added: 'This is incredibly reckless by Ricky given his position on a BBC family soap. He's seen as a role model.'
Ricky previously dated Sugababes singer Jade Ewen, 26, but she is not the woman on the other end of the Skype call.
The star won a National Television Award for Best Newcomer after joining EastEnders in 2010.
His latest storyline has seen him comforting Dot Cotton (June Brown) following the death of her son Nick Cotton.
What's more, Fatboy recently caused some controversy in Albert Square when he was caught kissing Denise Fox – who is portrayed by Diane Parish – despite her being engaged to Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt).
A representative for Ricky declined to comment when approached by MailOnline.
