BBC News at Ten 30 August 2007.
The report on Gordon Brown's warning to civil servants about wage claims was illustrated with graphics using three actors: a policemen, a nurse, and a civil servant. Since when has a news program taken to using actors to illustrate an item? More to the point, how much did this cost?

Welcome Hawkeye I thought I would be kidding if I replied that the BBC illustrated these figures in an effort to instil trust again in its audience by showing they know what a policeman, a nurse, and a civil servant look like. But that's until I saw this in their Editor's Blog. As for the cost, they need to inflate their running costs to ensure they continue to get a sizeable chunk of licence fee money. They would probably claim it was necessary to help new immigrants understand the news better.
