Having seen the trailer for this programme on how a river valley was about to 'taken back' by the sea i could virtually put money on what would be said in the show and i would have won the bet!
The claim that they can't afford to keep the sea defences the size they need to be due to 'sea level rise' (which is currently 1mm a year) and increased storms in the noth sea due to climate change!
Why did they not just say we don't have the money to maintain the defences due to the economic climate and we have to make tough descisions, this is one of them. Instead of blaming it on alleged sea level rise and a stormier north sea. I've had a look and can't find a single report that says the noth sea has become stomier recently, the sea level rise charts are easy to find (my work machine won't let me post one.
It's nice to see the environment agency are still peddling the governments global warming tosh and the BBC are backing them up the presenter didn't question anything, he just took it all as gospel....

Andrew Montford - Bishop Hill of the BishopHill.Blog and author of the excellent Hockey stick Illusion; will be on Newsnight tonight discussing the floods in Pakistan and the heatwave in Russia, both caused by the same blocking of the jet stream. Maybe the BBC are changing and are giving both sides a chance to have their say...... I doubt it but I'd like to be proved wrong!

Mybe if we had someone other than Bob Aimless trying to manage the military the public might not have lost as much support. He really is so far out of his depth it's unbelievable. Everytime he goes to a military unit or visits the troops in theatre they have less respect for him after his visit than before he got there. Concentrating all our planning for the future on whats currently going on in Afghan is a big mistake, it won't take long until the RAF is reduced to a handful of figter's for air defence of the UK, troop/cargo transports and 300 helicopters to ferry soldiers around..... The sooner him and his chums in New Liarbour are out of a job and we have a Defence Review the better.

biased-bbc.blogspot.com/2010/02/fingers-in-pies.htmlCheck the linky, it's not the only one i've seen others that refer to the same thing. Most of the BBC's pension fund is tied up in a massive Carbon Exchange/Profit system. So telling the truth about 'global warming' will destroy their pension.... Coincidence?

Isn't this like the police investigating the police! It's a pointless act and a show now the AGW house of cards is collapsing. The BBC is full of politicised reporters who are only interested in pushing their views. Doesn't help when the BBC charter says 'the science is settled and we must push this view'. They can't produce a nature show without telling us how all the fluffly little creatures are are under threat because of man made global warming and all the science/geology shows (with Dr Iain Stewart predominantly, the only geologist i've heard who says it's all our fault, all other geologists i've read/seen say it's part of a natural cycle) tell the same story.... One of them even had Dr Stewarts kids in the last show with the 'we must save the planet for our kids' guff. Maybe if the BBC's pension pot wasn't invested in Carbon Credits they might be slightly less biased. After all how can they tell us that it's mainly a natural process and it isn't all our fault and watch their pension pot crumble! The sooner there is a credible debate on the subject with proper data and information not Bob Watson sputing the 'Science is settled' rubbish and not being challenged the better. The only person at the BBC who seems to ask searching questions on the subject is Andrew Neal and he's had Mr Watson squirming before, we more of that not the simple questions answered by it must be true the IPCC says so! The sooner the BBC becomes impartial the better, we need to save this institution for our kids.
