Hi everyone. This is my 1st post in this forum. I've been running a facebook group since the end of January 2012 called " Petition for The BBC to fund itself " See link and please join... www.facebook.com/groups/331873746844759/We currently have 1,680 members but desperately need more to carry out the planned protests and events. We also have lots of like minded individuals like yourselves ans would value your input on all matters concerning the BBC. I know that this forums standpoint is about the way in which The BBC reports the news and such. But the point is that if you weren't paying for the TV licence, would you really care how biased they were in the first place? Join our petition. The BBC has to start funding itself. The BBC is not a national institution any more. We can't prop up The BBC anymore. The BBC has to stand up on its' own two feet NOW. The media market has moved on and so must The BBC.

Welcome B and good luck with your petition. There is also another you might want to have your members sign which is one for the government to have a public referendum on whether to have the licence fee. just to clarify something you wrote about the licence fee, and whether we care how biased the BBC are if we weren't paying for it. I would pay double to end the BBC. In fact, if I calculate the amount of hours I spend keeping this site going I probably 'spend' far far more than the licence fee. As I see it, it's not the money that's the problem, but the fact that the BBC gets the licence fee to perform as a fair, balanced, and impartial news outlet, which gives it a psychological edge in convincing people that this is what they are getting. The truth is they are an insidious propaganda outlet with their own agenda, and this masquerade makes them very dangerous. In my opinion they are the most harmful force on our society, and they are too stupid to know just how stupid they are.

Thank you for the kind welcome Teddy. To clarify my stance - I'm the type of person who is able to make informed decisions unlike some BBC followers who seem to swallow everything that's thrown at them. I couldn't care less if The BBC existed or not, just that they are (as you say) unfair, unbalanced and visibly biased to their own agenda. This aggravates me most, as I'm paying for them while they are breaking the terms of their contract to which you or I did not agree to. The media giant is essentially creating it own functioning of a democracy. If I wasn't paying for them to do this then I couldn't care less as it would then be by choice that I allowed myself to listen to their drivel.

I think in principle we agree entirely - just coming at it from different angles If you catch any of their output that you feel like sharing, here's the place to do it.

Glad you like it Feel free to use or link to any material from the site you find useful. Another site you may want to check out and 'advertise' is Biased BBC for more examples of bias and BBCresistance and TV licensing who empower and give great advice on their forums about how to not pay your licence and get away with it.

How do I start a new discussion thread? I wanted to go off topic and share a story that came to my attention today. BBC Rogue Traders presenter Dan Penteado has pleaded guilty to council tax and housing benefit fraud to the tune of more than £24,000. uk.tv.yahoo.com/presenter-admits-benefit-fraud-102944843.html
