I am still blazing at the news yesterday that a judge (I think) ruled that mums with pushchairs have priority over disabled people with wheelchairs on buses. Did I hear this right ? Also mentioned that if the space for a wheelchair is taken with a pushchair, that the disabled person waits for the next bus. Well, I've heard it all now.
Babies are a choice whereas disabled people have no choice at all.
Parents today think just because they have a baby or young child, that they come first. Too indulged today the littlies.
I am a grandmother of 4 and have never had to take them on a bus, but if I had - I would give a disabled person priority, no question.
It seems today that the more obnoxious you are, the more you get thought of.
Bah, humbug to the lot of em !

First I must declare an interest - look at my avatar.
The judge said that the company must make every effort, short of making the pushchair owner get off the bus, to give the wheelchair priority.
The bus had, reportedly very few passengers at the time but the pushchair owner was on the phone and didn't want to break off the conversation to fold the push chair.

I gather that this case will be taken on appeal to the Supreme Court. I wonder whose side they will be on?
