With the power struggle going on throughout the Middle East with numerous deaths and injuries, which the BBC prefers to view as 'democracy', like it will evolve into a cultured fair society that we would normally associate with that term , one of its editors thought the following story rated important enough to warrant being put on the main Middle East webpage. Dutch museum to lend Picasso for display in West BankNaturally this is a very important event in the Palestinian cultural calendar. This story is even placed above Clashes erupt at Jordan protest, which i would have thought far more pertinent for the refine at this time. Still no mention of Hamas Blockade of Gaza. I also don't recall seeing similar human interest kind of stories about Israel to provide any balance. But we long since expecting any from the BBC.

Thanks for that, Teddy. Regarding the BBC World Service rather than the BBC as a whole I asked a solicitor friend of mine about 7 years ago to tune into the station regularly and tell me what he thought. He duly did and was appalled at what he was hearing. Not only was the BBC breaking it's own charter regarding racial and religious neutrality but they were commiting a criminal act by promoting anti Semitism. NB this is under Scots law and I'm not sure about the legal position in England. With the World Service now being payed for by the licence fee payer it is now a criminal offence to pay the licence fee. My solicitor friend was going to take the case to the Scottish High Court but sadly he's now passed away. I find it strange and worrying that our press and politicians are not chasing this up. After all, the BBC has turned us into a nation of criminals aiding and abetting those who wish us harm and inciting hatred amongst peoples.

Hi High Sorry about the loss of your friend, and pity indeed he wasn't able to tackle this issue. I agree it's worrying that our press and politicians do little to address this blatant bias, in fact judging by yesterday's post, they are almost assisting it. But is it strange? I believe it's only because we have the semblance of a civilised country with the rights of 'free speech' that it can appear so, but when one considers the dynamics involved it is perhaps not so strange. If a tree falls in the forest, and there's nobody to hear it, does it make a sound? Those in the media who criticise the BBC on a regular basis, like Melanie Phillips, Peter Hitchens, Daniel Hannan, and others are themselves scorned by the left as right wing activists with deranged world views. In the same way that Fox in the US is perceived by the left as right wing, when it's probably the most balanced media company there. The left liberal mind is weak because it doesn't see what will be the true effect of it's tail chasing 'solutions'. For example, if it sees a poor person it's vision is to say we must give to the poor so that they are not poor any more. In the end it creates the imbalance of having those with a poor mindset with access to funds, which creates many more problems within society. It doesn't examine the factors that led to that poverty, often because is was the policies of the liberal mind that caused it, and they don't want to face up to their past errors of judgement. But deep down they know they are responsible and this increases their inner weakness. In forums they are the first to use insults to attack their 'opponents', because they lack the logic and real long term vision to work through an argument. If you can eventually show them the 'error' of their thinking, once cornered they start their argument from the beginning, highlighting the phrase that there's 'none so blind as those who will not see'. The BBC has the power to influence all the lazy thinkers within our society, and those where they can broadcast. The lazy thinkers don't suspect that there's anything wrong with the BBC and are brainwashed accordingly. Unless they look for sites like these they may never wake up, and what is going to cause them to do it? Politicians are well aware of the sway the media has, which is why they risk being demonized by it if they take it on. Is it strange? A good example of this is how the BBC has treated the Tea Party and Sarah Palin in the USA. They fear good sense and their only form of defence is ridicule. What we see is the dynamics of truly weak and ignorant minds who have power and exercise it. They will continue to bring down our society until the shit hits the fan, because they don't have the mentality to avoid it.
