"Iran doesn't recognise Israel and Israel has a very agressive attitude towards Iran..."

So i take it when Iran's president said he wanted to "wipe Israel of the map" he must have meant an actual map, hence why he can't recognise it...

Iran NOC oppose 'racist' London 2012 Olympic logo

Iran could boycott the London Olympics after claiming the Games' 2012 logo is "racist" because it resembles the word "Zion" - a biblical term for Jerusalem.

Iran's National Olympic Committee sent a letter to the International Olympic Committee criticising the emblem and its perceived link to the city.

The letter also urges other Muslim states to oppose the "racist logo".

A statement from the IOC said: "The London 2012 logo represents the figure 2012, nothing else."

The London logo shows the numbers "2012" in four jagged figures and until now has only been criticised for its design.

With 18 months until the Olympics, a statement from the London Organising Committee [Locog] added: "[The logo] was launched in 2007 following testing and consultation.

"We are surprised that this complaint has been made now."

The letter from Bahram Afsharzadeh, the secretary general of Iran's NOC, was sent to IOC president Jacques Rogge and continued: "There is no doubt that negligence of the issue from your side may affect the presence of some countries in the games, especially Iran which abides by commitment to the values and principles."

Iran won a gold and bronze at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing to finish 51st in the medals table.

Hadi Saei won the taekwondo title in the men's under 80kg category. The competition saw Britain's Aaron Cook miss out on a bronze medal after some controversial judging.

Iran's other medal came courtesy of Seyedmorad Mohammadi, who won bronze in the men's 60kg freestyle wrestling.

And of course, the BBC can only find the time to focus on Israel being 'agressive' what with all the unrest in the middleeast...
Of course, Iran actually stating this rubbish doesn't show IT'S actually being 'racist' or 'anti-semetic'.

To be fair dj, in this instance I think the interviewee says that "...Iran doesn't really recognize Israel...has a very aggressive attitude towards the country...", and is not referring to Israel's attitude towards Iran.

This report does show 2 things though; the absolute ridiculous mentality of the Iranian regime, and the awful design of the Olympic logo. Not because it looks anything like Zion, but it doesn't look anything like the figures 2012.

The beauty of these dynamics are that the more ridiculous that regimes like Iran, Libya, and all the rest of them show themselves to be, the more the BBC has to stretch itself to stay behind those regimes, and the more ridiculous it shows itself to be. The day's coming when BBC journalists will be scorned and laughed at for the lack of intelligence they portray, never mind about the obvious bias.

I notice the BBC are starting to come out of the woodwork to say how absurd Gaddafi was now the shit is hitting the fan, but up till now they have been doing their best to make him appear respectable. I wonder what it will take to show up the UN Human Rights Council for the sham it is after they elected Gaddafi to their panel.

The more ridiculous these regimes are, the more it shows up the BBC for giving them the respect they have.
