I do not recall seeing or hearing any reference to fund raising for humanitarian relief for Japan following the earthquake and tsunami. Am I paranoid in wondering whether the BBC is silent on this to avoid diverting donations that might otherwise be made to its upcoming red nose-fest?

Welcome cOmat Well a google search reveals nothing for the BBC, and you may well be right about why. Also the BBC knows full well the state of the peoples purse here in the UK right now, and that Japan has been fairly flush till now. The BBC also know that their presenters and executive are raking it in regardless, and the public response they might get is 'why they don't cough up with aid if they feel it necessary'.
