I think it's best you read the story first before I comment, though I suspect you'll come to the same conclusion yourself.
So what's the story?
The Kiwi PM denies a rumour.
Since the rumour is found to be baseless, wouldn't it be good journalism to identify just who started this rumour - and why?
No mention of this though.
John Key said security agents had investigated Ofer Mizrahi, one of three Israelis who died in the quake. The probe was triggered by the rapid departure of three other Israelis who had survived the quake, he said. There was no evidence that the group had Mossad links, he added.
So a group of Israelis touring New Zealand are hit by an earthquake and somebody thinks it's suspicious when the survivors head home immediately after 3 of their mates are killed, not to mention the other 178 people and the thousands left homeless.
.
Naturally a bona fide tourist would just carry on with their holiday.
Then we get the assertion that A New Zealand secret service officer quoted by the country's Southland Times newspaper said there were fears Israeli agents had hacked into the police national computer after the quake, gaining access to highly sensitive files.
I can't imagine what interest Israel would have with New Zealand police files, unless they're funding Islamic terrorists. So what could be highly sensitive?
Notice now that the reader is left hanging with the implication fro the next 2 sentences which tells us
Mr Key confirmed reports that he had received several phone calls from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the day of the quake.
He said Mr Netanyahu had expressed condolences and offered help in trying to locate Israeli citizens who had died.
And then we get the result
Mr Key said there had been no unauthorised access to the police computer system.
Here's a clue as to why the Kiwis suspect they might be infiltrated by Jews
Be aware too, the BBC run this (non) story ahead of the fact that Syrian forces killed 10 mourners at a funeral procession.
Naturally the BBC are always happy to further hatred and suspicion of Israelis, along with their other buddies of similar ilk, even when the truth is far from that.
New Zealand PM John Key denies Israel spy rumour
The Christchurch earthquake left large parts of the city uninhabitable
New Zealand's prime minister has denied that a group of Israelis caught up in the devastating Christchurch earthquake in February had links to the Israeli secret service Mossad.
John Key said security agents had investigated Ofer Mizrahi, one of three Israelis who died in the quake.
The probe was triggered by the rapid departure of three other Israelis who had survived the quake, he said.
There was no evidence that the group had Mossad links, he added.
He confirmed however that Mizrahi was found to have two passports - one European and one Israeli.
"Security agencies conducted the investigation and found no evidence that the people were anything other than backpackers," Mr Key said in a statement on Wednesday.
The 22 February earthquake killed 181 people and left thousands homeless.
