Before driving my beloved into work in the mornings I like to gently raise my blood pressure by watching BBc Breakfast before taking to the road and being tailgated and cut up.
Between 8.00 and 9.00 Breakfast runs what I like to call sales hour. This is normally hype for a film, television program, book, record, tour complete with the announcers fawning over the guest(s).
Today we had another one of those non-stories they like to run-should we call chavs ermm.. chavs.
To defend the "chavs" non other that Owen Jones a fast riser in my list of people I dislike. The author of "Chavs: the demonisation of the working class" available at a discounted rate at Amazon although not something I'll be buying. Of course he went through pretty much everything he always says including trying to blame Thatcher.
He was on Newsnight on the "Englishness" debate (still awaiting a reply to my complaint on that BBc). He was also on one of the press preview programs spouting on about how badly treated muslims are. Take a tip mate like muslims that much move to Iran.
He was whining that the Catherine Tate/ Matt Lucas parody's were bad. Ok I always thought in this kind of comedy you create a caricature. Anyway I spent 22 years working in DHSS and it's not all that far from the truth in some cases.
