I'm having BBC free weekend although I did catch 30seconds of the terminally unfunny John Bishop's Britain, which is as long as it took me to hit the remote control button. As London burns (should be playing the Clash over it-London's burning) wonder if the BBc have reported this one from the Obama theme park - the theme being desolation. State Fair melees produce 11 injuries, 31 arrests I see the usual excuses(Sky news) being reeled out, 'nowhere for the kids to go, Police stop and search'. Well Boo hoo, when I was a teenager we had nowhere to go and the Police regularly stopped me, so what. No doubt the Government will pump millions into the area. Also, where are they going to do their shopping now they've burnt the Aldi down? Nice to see Mastermind (not) MP Lammy appealing for calm.

As it happens, despite this story being covered by all the major media companies, it doesn't appear on the BBC website.
Carl, you lost me in your last sentence.

David Lammy was the ex labour Minister of Culture who scored 13 on "celebrity " mastermind as a rising star of the labour goverment. I'm just taking a swipe. hence mastermind.Because f course the labour regeime and their policies are not at all responsible for some of the social conditions facing us....not. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Lammy

Err just how my mind works ..eratically No I should of put this under a new thread expected BBc response to riots. I just noticed one of the buildings raised to the ground appeared to be Aldi, I was just thinking that the residents will have to go futher to get their shopping now. To be honest I haven't watched the BBc news since Friday I was predicting evil Police stop and search and throw money at it. So I note on the BBc website Lammy is aying he represents the community in London with the highest unemployment(throw money at it). Questions are also being asked about the circumstances of the shooting that started the incident although I'm going to reserve judgment untill after all the facts are known (evil police) I note the BBc website photo of Mark Duggan is not the "gangsta pose" one being used by the media.

Move over Nostradamus I've just watched the 6 o'clock news. As predicted "racism" was the wordand did I really hear one of them say that the Police attack the yoof? Yep lack of opportunity is to blame, well as I can't even find a job to apply for I'd better head down to Carpetwright with a pile of bricks. Same old same old excuses for mindless violence and theft. Send in the Army with baton rounds tear gas and water cannon. Only conected by the fact I haven't seen BBc this weeekend did they run this? Cameron will not have EU referendumIn an extraordinary letter described last night as “ridiculous and insulting”, Laurence Mann, Mr Cameron’s political private secretary, said the British people did not want another in or out vote because it would be “artificial and simplistic”.
Instead, he said Britons should be grateful for the EU’s “useful work” on global warming and global poverty and stand by a decision made almost two generations ago on the far less federal body known as the Common Market. 19.30 rumours disturbances are taking place in Birmingham, nothing on BBc yet.

Still nothing so far on the BBC website about the violence in Wisconsin, nor Cameron not putting EU membership to a referendum.
Trying to understand why the reticence over the latter, especially given as it supports so much of the BBC agenda - EU / Climate Change / Giving away more money until the whole world is included in Global poverty - except for the BBC workers of course.
The only thing I can think of is it would mean putting Cameron in a good light (in BBC terms anyway), and I guess they can't quite bring themselves to do that.
