A classic example of the BBC's rejection of basic common sense in order not to offend any minority and "redress the balance" can be found on almost every national weather forecast. You will notice that these days the weather forecasts mostly begin with some far-flung part of the Western Isles before moving accross to the rest of Scotland with far too much detail considering its proportion of the population. Then we work down through North England and Wales with plenty of detail until we reach the South, where only a fleeting mention is made of the capital and the most populated part of the Uk, the South East. The Westcountry rarely gets a mention at all. A trivial point perhaps, but there is obviously someone at the BBC who honestly thinks that to begin the forecast with London and the South East would be to descriminate against the poor downtrodden folk of the Western Isles, all eight of them. If you watch enough weather forecasts, you will notice that Anglesey gets more mentions than London! So the plan is that the "inbalance" will be "redressed" by means of "positive discrimination" against the majority. And there will be somebody who's job it is to make sure that each forecast begins with some distant corner of the country, as long as it's not the South. Just as the "horribly white" majority of BBC employees are "positively" discriminated against in favour of a disproportionate number of "ethnic minority" candidates, so even the weather can't escape from the crude diktat of the "diversity agenda". In fact, this sinister policy of social engineering now pervades everything the BBC does and, in particular, children's television, where the Beeb knows it can get 'em while they're young. The BBC should be very careful with its policy of "positive discrimination", as one day the public may well descriminate against it in favour of a proper broadcaster.
