The above is what I heard James Naughtie come out with just before 8AM on a Monday morning. Having replaced the H at the beginning of the Culture Secretary's surname with the letter C all went into bluster and the lame excuse was offered that it was one of those inexplicable slips of the tongue. As if from nowhere an email which just happened to be from some kind of psychologist appeared suggesting that someone with a name like Hunt should never have been offered a position in the cabinet, thus making it the James Cameron's fault.
The more I listen to it the more obvious it becomes that the Tory haters of the NUJ who run the Today programme staged the whole thing. If they didn't, it still, more than strongly, suggests what they were calling the Culture Secretary in the studio before he arrived!
How else would such an experienced presenter suddenly decide C was the new H in the word Hunt? I mean, if you went to see your doctor with itchy feet would you suddenly find yourself telling the doctor you think you have Athlete's Root? Of course not.
We can look forward, in the run up to the mass day's public service unions', unsanctioned (by an overall majority of their memberships) one day act of treason against the British economy at the end of this month, to their loyal allies at BBC News pulling out all the stops to produce a non-stop onslaught of anti-government information management.
On the last PS Unions' day of treason I didn't listen to BBC News all day on principle. To my surprise when I tuned in to the Today programme the next morning there was not a single mention of what had happened the day before. It was as if this BBC News predicted massive demonstration of union power had never happened! I had to go online to find out that the turnout had been disappointingly low, a proverbial damp squib, and that the public response was more hostile than supportive. This was an important news item but the biased BBC made no mention of it whatsoever....of course! ;D
