I heard Newsround yesterday as I was paying very little attention to it (reccomended) so this is what I thought they said. Please advise me if otherwise, as I have no intention of looking for it to watch again. Reporting on Plebgate (Andrew Mitchell) did they say something of the lines of "to make things worse, the Conservatives are considered to be the party of the Rich." Exactly what bearing that has I have no idea (not). Anyone seen a poor Labour MP? If my memory serves the previous MP from Wrexham was involved in a similar swearing at security incident but I don't recall such a big song and dance being made.

Interesting that the only individual topic in The World At One (Radio 4) on which the views of 'ordinary' Tory party members was canvassed today (10.x.12) after the closing speech at the Conference was "Plebgate". Even more interesting that they were almost unanimous in parroting the BBC/Socialist line that the Chief Whip must go. Of course the editor only left out the ones who were not good speakers. Pity all the ones in support of keeping the Chief Whip could not speak well enough to be put on air.
Am I the only one who thinks that being attacked viciously and consistently by your political opponents is a sign of doing a good job, and being feared by said enemies?

I agree generally with your premise, although in these times I only wish it was true that the Tories per se were doing a particularly good job. The BBC will always attack the Tories, especially as Labour did such a lousy job prior to their departure. So the BBC work to get them back in. Just the fact that the BBC output is so anti-Tory/pro-Labour day in and day out, and the spineless Tories allow it to continue, afraid to take them on, I can't say they don't deserve what they get. If you make yourself a doormat, you can't blame others for walking on you.
