Lars Hedegaard, the Danish cartoonist who set off a firestorm in 2006 with his illustration of Muhammad, is now getting a notable show of support—from Muslims in Denmark. A recent attempt on Hedegaard’s life has Copenhagen’s Muslim community taking a stand for freedom of speech . . . . These are extremely encouraging signs, but the issue remains thorny. There are divisions among both native Danes and Denmark’s Muslim immigrant community. Some Danes blame Hedegaard for intentionally provoking violence; others blame the Muslim community for reacting violently. In the country’s Muslim community, some believe Hedegaard crosses lines he shouldn’t; others believe that, no matter how much they detest his actions, he has the right to do so.blogs.the-american-interest.com/wrm/2013/02/28/muslims-supporting-anti-islam-cartoonist/

I can't help but greet this news with a bit of dubious cheer. There appears to have been some pressure on the Muslims to modify their usual response. Considering the use of Taqiyya (lies and deceit) to attain their Islamic goals, one has to know how heartfelt any real 'about turn' ( as this story shows) as opposed to this one proves to be. This report from Jihad Watch today indicates some pressure put on these Danish Muslims to allay our fears. Whether or not it's sincere, time will tell.

I also have reservations to put it very mild. Lies and deceit have become intrinsic with my definition of Muslim leadership although I didn't know of Taqiyya and their official sanctioning not that I'm in the least surprised. I posted this because it looks like there may be some sentiment that is genuine to at least publicly distance themselves from violent intolerance (in spite of the Times article ). The Jihad Watch write up is indeed very informative.

Here's another example of a Muslim genuinely standing against the reactions of Muslims, in this case over the Mohammed video, and at the same time putting the BBC presenter, Kirsty Wark, to shame.
When Muslims get death threats from other Muslims for speaking out against the vile barbarity that the latter engage in, you know they're sincere.
