Basically, she outlined the problems with the euro perfectly, that Germany would chafe at the inevitable need for greater inflation, and that the poorer countries would inevitably be uncompetitive and need bailouts that would not easily be forthcoming.Read selected quotes from "The Path To Power" written in 1995. Here's the article. She had many good qualities, and certainly showed a spirit that it is all too lacking in many of the latter day politicians, I couldn't stand her voice though. She never spoke to me. It seems to be a trait that most politicians have developed since her reign.

I was never a Tory but I admired Thatcher for the following the courage of her convictions.
I'm hearing a lot on Al Beebeezera just now about industrial devestation during her tenure but looking up Scottish statistcs ( I cannot find figures for England / UK) industrial production declined from 27.3% of the economy to 25.4% under the Tory years but from 1997 to 2010 under Labour it declined from 25.4% to 11.3%. It has later emerged that Labour deliberately embarked on an economic scorched earth policy in Scotland, aided and abetted by the Trades Unions, for two reasons - 1, Labour believed that poverty equaled votes for them so they devastated the entire country. 2, They wanted, no needed, Scotlands oil so they turned the Scots into economic basket cases pleading with their begging bowl for crumbs from Westminsters table in a bid to thwart nationalism.
I can speak from experience in the shipyards when I say that it wasn't the Tories who destroyed our shipbuilding industry but Labour aided and abetted by the unions.

Here's a quote I found so utterly relevant:
Lady T was one of history’s most remarkable groups of leaders. Blessed are we who lived at a time of giants, starting with her, Reagan and John Paul II, and onward to Walesa, Havel, Lee Kwan Yu, Deng Xiaoping, Bukovsky and Sharansky. Scour the world today with that group in mind and your heart sinks.

And the left's response - Left's chorus of hatred: Champagne in the streets, students union cheers and vile internet taunts - Glasgow: More than 300 people attended impromptu street party
- London: Over 100 people gathered in Brixton to 'celebrate'
- Facebook campaign to take 'Ding Dong! The Witch is Dead' to number one
- Durham Miners' Association: Her death was a 'great day' for coal miners
- Second most trending topic on Twitter: #nostatefuneral
- NUS National conference reported to have cheered at news of her death

I just read a dozen or so comments. I realize it's the Mail and not BBC but it was a breath of fresh air after the photo/hater comments. When Reagan died we had similar hate. It certainly leaves no delusion. The Left are the danger to free civilization.

The left hated Thatcher because she thrashed themAs far as I can see the BBC haven't covered these foul comments yet. It will be interesting to see if and how they relate to the perpetrators, especially as most know how aligned they are with these lowlifes.

I was particularly disgusted that the BBC had quotes from Gerry Adams on his view of her. Naturally he was very anti-; after all he was on the IRA Army Council which ordered and planned her (failed) murder in Brighton, along with Martin McGuinness. Thanks to Blair they are now "respectable" politicians, instead of being where they should be; languishing in jail. If IRA criminals chose to commit suicide that was not tantamount to her murdering them.

I have been watching the BBC dragging the most anti-Thatcher people they can find with increasing distaste. However I can find no better summing up than page 30 of Private Eye no 1338:
