Panorama's programme on working conditions set out its leftist bias in the summary: It's the online retailer that has transformed the way we shop, but how does Amazon treat the workers who retrieve our orders? Working conditions in the company's giant warehouses have been condemned by unions as among the worst... What they failed to explain is WHY the working conditions are ludicrously 19th Century, with every item being hand picked by a human worker instead of the fully automated system which Amazon would have preferred. This is because they were told by the Labour politicians in the Welsh Assembly Government (Proprietors: the Unions) that they would get no aid, and possibly not even planning permission, if they did not provide a large number of jobs, no matter what those jobs were. Amazon are simply trying to make the best of a rubbish warehouse, using large numbers of low paid, uninterested staff in utterly boring and repetitive jobs, simply to give the Labour party some "good" numbers to shout about. £8 million of public money bought those jobs, and those jobs are driving the people who try to work there to despair. However the BBC did not mention the real causes of the problems, preferring the left-wing "blame the blood-sucking employer" line they always trot out.
