Well named, most of the people in the audience were barking mad. The big question on the effects of immigration was raised by a (can I say it - a "white" senior citizen). She got booed from a high immigrant audience for stating it's detrimental effects particularly in Barking. When DD picked on somebody from the audience - you've guessed it - not one white person, all chip on their shoulders coloured people. One referred to Michael Heseltine as "you white Tory person." Can you imagine if this comment had been reversed, they would have you up to race relations board as quick as "benefits" I nearly blew a fuse. One white homeless man walked out of the studio in disgust, saying quite rightly that coming to this country, you get everything laid on a plate for you, but he got no help at all. All hell broke loose and things got very heated indeed. Not only that, I couldn't access QT on the red button, cos on my TV, it wasn't there, so I couldn't read what other texters had said. That made my already bad mood even worse. At least texters usually feel the way I do. This country is a joke

The episode is available to be watched again for the next 12 months here.I noted a teacher in the audience who thought immigration was the best thing since sliced bread, and that he thought the BBC was biased from having people in the audience who weren't in favour of it, (as if .) It was clear from what Dimbleby responded with, that besides the issue of Ukraine, it was the most referred to issue in the questions submitted by the audience before the programme began. So certainly the majority in the audience were not enamoured by immigration. It would appear the BBC were expecting this to be a point of contention, which is why so many immigrants were invited to attend. I thought the Labour MP woman who defended the man who walked out must have forgotten just which party was responsible for his state of affairs. She tried to wriggle out of it by claiming she had only been an MP since 2010 so wasn't personally responsible.
