Today Feedback started with an item on the accusations of bias on the current war in Gaza. There was no comment on how many complaints had been received, nor how they were divided. Two were actually quoted; first a pro-Hamas listener complaining that the BBC reports were biased in support of Israel, and then one complaining of an anti-Israel bias (presumably that was in aid of fairness).
Then we had the BBC's reaction to these complaints, delivered entirely by Lyse Doucet, the BBC's Chief International Correspondent, who denied that there was any bias, but went on to admit that they had been criticised for getting almost all of their facts from the Palestinian Health Authorities, and she declared that this was because their figures were "reliable", though she admitted that the BBC had been criticised for this, but she did not agree. She said that figures from other sources were dubious because "there are a lot of pressure groups out there".
As Private Eye says "So that's all right then".

Nicely picked up Charm. As we noted here because of the few honest journalists who have been in Gaza, once they leave they describe the pressure they were subjected to by Hamas. Of course the 'Palestinian Health Authority' would not bend any figures as a result of these terrorists, even if they wanted to be honest. Lyse (pronounced LIES) Douchebag is a twisted excuse for a human being and I think it would be perfect justice for a misfired Hamas rocket to land on her.
