In the Guardian today. Mark Thompson, the director general of the BBC, writes a typical nauseating piece in a style that Montgomery might have used to rouse the troops following a defeat, except this defeat was caused by internal corruption. The gist of it is "The BBC has squandered trust. But we will win it back Only the deluded would deny that public faith has been gravely damaged. To repair it, we must build on existing values" blah blah blah. I won't bother copying the article here, but what's worthy of a read are the comments that follow this article. Since the Guardian is used by the BBC to post all their mealy mouthed propaganda, precisely because it's a leftist rag, one would expect the readers to be 'taken in' by this rhetoric. With few exeptions most of them take the BBC to task.
