On a forum devoted to all things "The Archers" I came across this quote:
Irrespective of the complaints about The Archers I find this very interesting.
P.S. "The Archers" is the longest running daily soap opera in the world. It is on BBC Radio4 at 19:00 UK time six days a week.

As I've stated many times here, this is why I want to see the BBC privatised and have to make it in the real world. I doubt they will make it, but lessons will REALLY be learned this way, instead of the mantra that they use when shown up.

An additional thought is "How many people at the BBC had relatives already working there when they joined?"
Clearly I don't mean acting families, which have always existed, such as the Fox, or the Weeks families. I mean the non-acting ones, like the Dumblebey or Snow families.

I have no idea how many but we do cover the ones that come to light. It's fair to assume that there are many more connected people there. It's not what you know, but who.
