Ex-spy Chief: BBC fed kids propaganda

This reminds me of AL's article "BBC gives unquestioned platform to terrorist". Just disgusting.

Britain’s former spy chief accused the BBC of “parroting” Al Qaeda propaganda to children as young as six.

Dame Pauline Neville Jones, who is also a former BBC governor, is infuriated at the stance the corporation’s Newsround programme took on the September 11 attacks. She accused the flagship children’s news bulletin of feeding an “ugly undercurrent” which suggests the terrorist outrage was somehow justifiable.

Newsround is aimed at viewers aged between six and 12.

On its website it answered the question concerning 9/11, “Why did they do it” by saying: “The way America has got involved in conflicts in regions like the Middle East has made some people very angry, including a group called al Qaeda - who are widely thought to have been behind the attacks.”

After the public complained, the text was amended. It now reads: “Al Qaeda is unhappy with America and other countries getting involved in places like the Middle East. People linked to al Qaeda have used violence to make this point in the U.S.A, and in other countries.”

Dame Pauline, who headed the Government’s Joint Intelligence Committee and is described as the most formidable female diplomat Britain has produced, said the new version was even worse. “It still says it’s all America’s fault, and now for daring to be involved in the Middle East at all,” she said.

"It wasn’t ‘people linked to’ al Qaeda who killed 3,000 people that day, it was al Qaeda itself. Osama bin Laden even boasted of the attacks. Is the BBC really saying that if you’re ‘unhappy’ it’s quite normal behaviour to murder people?

Disgusting, just disgusting. The line that America and the West's "interference in the Middle East" provoked terrorist attacks is just pure bull. Their grievances and their agenda go back centuries. Apart from anything, it has already been well established that a major part of their hatred stems from the fact that they view Western culture as "immoral".

I remember reading interviews in the press with young Muslim guys in the days after the London bombings. Can't remember which paper, I read it online. But they were all saying things like "yes, the bombings were justified because the West needs to be taught a lesson about its decadence and immorality. There is too much sex, drinking, gambling. Islam is the only cure". Foreign policy wasn't even mentioned.

I'd be interested to see how childrens BBC represents the Israel issue to kids. No doubt it's even worse.

Yes AL that's the bottom line, their hatred for the decadent West. Our freedoms of choice, especially religion. I remember reading years ago what the woman who was like a nanny for the bin Ladens said concerning Osama. When he was 14 he was already upset the way women were not discreet, and if my memory is correct he even felt that way about his mother. Their agenda all along is to get the US and western influence out of the Middle East, establish Sharia rule and military strength, destroy Israel and then take it to the rest of the world.

One of the primary reasons why we are progressing in Iraq is al Qaeda itself. I wanna share a quote from Michael Yon who has been in Iraq for a long time reporting on the ground exposing the utter hypocrisy driving their cold-bloodedness. They may hate Western influence but they stand for nothing but hate.

Ironically, in Anbar Al Qaeda has become our best ally for killing al Qaeda. They’ve managed to do this directly, just by being al Qaeda. Despite the promised carrots, what Al Qaeda consistently delivered here was mostly stick, and with a special kind of hypocritical contempt that no sensible person would believe possible. (Not unlike the notion of baking the children of resistant parents or ordering shepards to diaper the corrupting genitals of goats.)

Al Qaeda has a management style—doing drugs, laying up sloppy drunk, raping women and boys, and cutting off heads, all while imposing strict morality laws on the locals—that makes it clear that they have one set of principles for themselves, and another for every one else.

Nothing to be sorry about Steevo, it just happened that I happened on the same article and knew we had covered this recently.

To any intelligent being the mindset and ultimate goal of militant Muslims is clear. Just by knowing their vision of heaven, 72 virgins and serving boys, it is obvious they just want to have power over everybody else. The fact is that the BBC, and most other lefties, don't seem to get it, and will bend over backwards to accomodate them. Since this gives the militants the power they are seeking, with the possibility to gain even more, they make these ignorant minds believe they are 'on the right track'.

There is none so blind as those who will not see.

Incredible! I could not BELIEVE those pages! Their article on Hezbollah is disgraceful - "America and Israel view it as a terrorist group" and then later - "they want to get rid of Israel" - as if wanting to get rid of an entire country still leaves the "terrorist" classification up for debate! The purpose of that article is to legitimize terrorism against Israel to children. How come there isn't some huge campaign to get these disgraceful pages changed?

The BBC would say they are just condensing the 'facts' to appeal to children's limited understanding, whilst clinging to the 'one man's terrorist is another's freedom fighter' cliche.

To the BBC mindset
America = bad
Supporters of America = lap dogs
Israel = bad oppressors
Arabs = poor oppressed

Even if you got them to modify these webpages it wouldn't alter the perspective they will continue to produce their 'news' in. At least to any thinking individual it shows the BBC bias in a very apparent way.
