Thankyou Teddy Bear for your efforts here. I hope you don’t mind if an American joins in.

Increasingly I’ve found it necessary to discus our relationship in terms of anti-Americans against Euro-skeptics, or to the affirmative, pro-Americans against pro-Europeans. I do realize tho many anti-American Brits are not pro-European.

As the UK is our ally in war it has been very frustrating watching so many in your media (and ours) become an enemy. There doesn’t appear to be much conservative, true conservative counter-balance to the predominant center/left to far left bias in the UK and western Euro media in general. As you may know if you insert the phrase “BBC anti-American” into Google the results will be near endless.

I’d like to quote a segment of an article written a couple of years ago by Michael Morris for the American Thinker. For me this particular angle sums up the most plausible explanation of the BBC’s ultimate objective and I’m curious if you folks have an opinion.

“By bashing the US, the BBC is slowly trying to brainwash the British population into believing that the EU Super State is an alternative and viable worldview, along the same line as Chirac’s often stated vision of a new bipolar world order.
In its simplest form, the BBC’s game is to convince British citizens that America is bad, which consequently implies that the EU is, by contrast, good. If one bashes the US enough, then people naturally will look to the alternative, and the only one on offer in the UK is to become part of the EU Super State.”

Americans, or any nationality for that matter are more than welcome. It merely displays the negative impact that BBC bias has around the world that you take the time and trouble to post your perceptions here.
I question the view that the BBC is anti-American. Is it not more accurate that the BBC is anti-Bush and anti-Republican? After all, Michael Moore, and others of that ilk, are the darlings of the BBC. Faced with the fact that an American majority voted for Bush, then to that extent the BBC are anti-American 'to explain the foolish Yank who would vote for such a President.' The good Americans are those (obviously democrats and liberals) who feel the same.
I don't question that the BBC are pro EU or UN, and now they have secured their contracts in China, pro-Chinese.
I think the answer to what motivates the BBC in their overall bias is to deduce what might they see serves them best.
There is no doubt that they have an pro-Islamic bias, and if you see what comprises the majority of listeners to their world service, as I've displayed in another topic, then you can understand why. Their avoidance of using 'terrorists' to describe those carrying out acts of terror, for fear of alienating Muslims speaks volumes.
I've also written on another topic how the BBC was virulently anti-Blair for going to war with the US against Saddam. Despite the fact that they are usually pro-Labour. CNN claimed (post-Saddam) they were biased during the Saddam era for the threat of violence against their staff and closure of their offices in Iraq if they did not comply with Saddam's 'line of reasoning'. The BBC have admitted no bias, but were faced with the same situation. Judging from this, and most of their Middle East reportage, they are willing partners to put forward the Islamic propaganda.
If Bush had not invaded Iraq, I doubt the BBC would have been so virulent against him.
I can't say whether its kickbacks from wealthy Muslim leaders in their attempt to make an Islamic world, or the hegemonistic desire of the BBC for world media dominance, or a combination of both, but they seem eager to want to protect their Muslim interests, at the expense of anything.
So they support all organisations, countries and causes who further their purpose. If the EU was pro war in Iraq, the BBC would be anti EU - at least as far as this issue was affected.

Thanks for your reply Teddy Bear, it is interesting and not surprising to me.

I guess its easy for those of us here who are conservative or even libertarian to view them as anti-American because we view Moore and those of his ilk, along with many of our Democrats that way Of course many of these Americans are highly pro-UN/anti-US power and would cede a lot of our sovereign fundamental rights to a greater socialist philosophy and governing structure. They’ve also been very sympathetic toward terrorist organizations opposed to our efforts and those of Israel.

I can certainly understand why they would be perceived as anti-American, and the fact that they have no moral integrity in their reportage to pursue their own agenda, certainly makes them anti-civilisation . It is extremely regrettable that this crap media organisation is supposed to represent our nation, The only hope is that the drip, drip, of bloggers, journalists, etc. raising awareness in others of this insidious corporation, will bring a change there.
