This is by Michael Yon, embedded with the I-4 Calvary. He is not new at this, and he is one of the very best. He was becoming critical of our chances of success in the first half of 2006 and was prevented by some senior officers from embedding. He's been back since the surge.

Great Pictures - thanks Steevo. Refreshing to see a journalist that is not seeking just to discredit those putting their lives on the line for their country, and undermining our efforts.

In contrast, one can easily imagine BBC journalists licking their lips when allied troop casualties occur as this serves to further the 'hopelessness' of the cause there.
