I just listened to Paxman interview Colin Powell. It was on BBC World Service, replayed by the NPR station WBUR in Boston.
Paxman was aggressive and almost insolent, as he berated Powell for his performance at the UN when he described Sadam Hussain’s WMD program.
I can understand why British politicians are subject to this kind of snide haranguing, but what has Colin Powell done to deserve it?
The BBC is not the court of world opinion. Paxman isn't it's judge and jury. Colin Powell isn’t accountable to Paxman or the BBC. Colin Powell deserves more respect.

Welcome djh99. You're absolutely right that the BBC is not the court of world opinion. But given that they can, and do affect the opinion of many around the world, they ever more arrogantly present their usually biased version of events as 'truth'. They make scathing interviews and portrayals of those in the free world who are genuinely trying to improve things, but those despots and corrupt leaders whose actions have led to the deaths and torture of many in the free world are treated deferentially and respectfully, with the excuse that the BBC are trying to be 'fair and balanced'. THEY MAKE ME SICK.
