The BBC's Charter and its Producers Guidelines state: ...'Due impartiality lies at the heart of the BBC. All programs and services should be open minded, fair and show a respect for truth? [BBC reports should] contain comprehensive, authoritative and impartial coverage of news and current affairs in the United Kingdom and throughout the world?? How does the BBC measure up to its charter?

BBC News has been trumpeting the negative results of its recent poll among the Baghdad citizenry as to whether the US surge has had any real effect on improving life in the Iraqi capital. Why is a public broadcaster using compulsory public funding to mount such a poll? Knowing the BBC's outrageously anti-American, anti-Bush, anti-war stance - the overt propaganda for which they pour out all over the world every day - what purpose can such a poll conducted by such a blatantly biased news service accomplish? One can the imagine the set questions and one can see how the results have been reported: Bush has failed yet again! Oh, really? Surely the breakup of the BBC and the discontinuation of its public funding is long overdue.

At present, the BBC is only answerable to itself in deciding its standards and coverage. How does it measure up to what you consider good quality, and impartial and unbiased reporting as required by its charter? All TV viewers in the UK are forced by law to pay for this 'service'. Do you believe that what is received truly 'serves' the society, - or merely increases the problems within it? Your perceptions of BBC output are important and welcome.
