While most media outlets cover the story today of an explosive laden truck detonated at the Erez border crossing between Gaza and Israel early this morning, nothing appears on the BBC website. However, later on in the day a Hamas orchestrated demonstration at the Karni border crossing, resulting in the death of a Palestinian, gets immediate coverage with the headline Gazan shot dead at blockade demoIn the article the BBC does mention the earlier truck incident, but why isn't there a separate story about it? Presumably if there had been no second incident there wouldn't even be a word said about it. When any half wit would question the Palestinian tactic of launching attacks on the borders, claiming it is a result of Israel's blockade of their territory, which can only result in further restrictions, so they can plead greater poverty to the ignorant liberals of the world, doesn't enter the BBC mind to make the connection. Any journalist at the BBC who believes their organisation strives to be impartial will be hard put to justify these ommissions, but no doubt they will continue to ignore it to perpetuate the mantra.
