An article has been written in The Telegraph telling what 'good value' the BBC is. The fact that it's written by the director general of the BBC clearly has a lot to do with his view. It's worth reading the many comments that readers have chosen to respond with. Here is my own.
Mark Thompson - you omit to include that you are the director general of the BBC and as such have a vested interest in the article you write.
It may well be that many are already familiar with this fact, but it's fair to assume that many won't be. Does it matter?
Well if you were intent on being open and frank it would, but as might be expected, you personify what the ONCE RESPECTED BBC has come to represent - it's own agenda, which is not that of the society you are supposed to serve.
Do you see how many people here have taken time to tell you what they think of the forced tax imposed upon them to support the likes of you and your kind? Is this the 'majority' that told you in YOUR POLL that they would be happy to pay more for the BBC? Myself, I'd be happy to pay to get rid of you.
No doubt you will discount and ignore the views expressed here, much as have been doing for so long for the many comments you receive on 'Have Your Say' which don't go along with the BBC's chosen line.
I can surmise where your Bloated Biased Corporation would be if you really had to compete in the free market - BANKRUPT. You'd lose those inflated salaries and bonuses you grant yourselves for the corruption, conceit, and poor quality you fob on us in return.
The licence fee also gives a false stature to pursue your self-serving objectives. It makes others tend to believe you must be honest and impartial which is so clearly not the case.
There may well be ignorant souls or those whos agendas you are happy to promote at the expense of truth and balance, who will in turn applaud your output, but as your own World Service poll shows - the majority of people in the world or UK do not trust your news service www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=501137&in_page_id=1770
"You can fool some of the people..... "
Don't think we don't know what you're really about!
