What better time than Christmas week, the holiest week in the Christian calendar celebrating the birth of Christ, for the majority atheistic BBC to insult it's majority Christian public by showing a docu-drama depicting his conception by Mother Mary as the result of being raped by a Roman soldier.
And who better to write it than the scriptwriter for The Eastenders?
To realise its full import, consider this; In 2002 the BBC commissioned a documentary on the Virgin Mary, and you can still access the Press Release for 'The Real Mary' here. In one of its paragraphs they state
So don't think for a moment that the BBC is unaware of what they are doing.
Though in their usual biased fashion, rewriting history for their own political purpose, they can't resist inserting ...As a Jewish woman living in first century Palestine,....
There is no such thing as 'first century Palestine'. Mary was from Judah (Judea), a region of the Kingdom of Israel. The first use of Syria-Palestine did not come about until after the Roman expulsion of Jews from the area 200 years after the birth of 'The Year of Our Lord' - or as the BBC would have you believe - 'the year of that Roman bastard'.
I doubt anybody at the BBC will have considered that 'Islam regards Mary as the virgin mother of Jesus who they believe was one of the prophets.' For sure if any Muslims object to this programme they'll do an about turn. But while it's just Christians - "Screw them"!
Here's a couple of articles from the Express and Daily Mail on the outcry made by the various churches over this programme.
Notice this remark from a church leader, Stephen Green;
But Stephen Green, of the ministry Christian Voice, said: “There is no justification for any of this in the gospels. They do say Joseph was suspicious, but that was it.
“It doesn’t suggest any physical or verbal abuse.
“It’s typical of the fertile imagination you need for something like EastEnders.
“The kids that do nativity plays in school will be perplexed that someone has come up with this revisionist, puerile idea.
“The BBC can’t help themselves. Three quarters of our population are Christian. At the BBC, this proportion is reversed.
“You have a huge proportion of militant, liberal atheists who are keen to dump on Christianity.
“They wouldn’t mock the birth of Muhammad , or anything to do with his life story. They wouldn’t ridicule Hinduism or Sikhism, but Christianity is their big target.”
Says it all really!
A Merry Christmas from the BBC

Historians have looked for reasons to explain Joseph’s loyalty and sympathy towards Mary. One second-century historian claimed that Mary was actually the victim of a rape by a Roman soldier called Panthera and, indeed, many women at the time would have been raped by soldiers. However, that story is much more likely to have been circulated falsely in an attempt to discredit the growing Christian movement.
So don't think for a moment that the BBC is unaware of what they are doing.

FURY OVER BBC'S NATIVITY INSULT
Sunday December 19,2010

THE BBC has angered Christians with a TV drama in which the Virgin Mary is branded a prostitute and sex cheat.
In The Nativity, written by EastEnders scriptwriter Tony Jordan, 15-year-old Mary is attacked by people who do not believe her claim that she is pregnant by the Holy Spirit.
Her husband Joseph accuses her of “whoring” and even suggests that her pregnancy might have been the result of rape.
The Church of England has described the four-part drama, which goes out before the 9pm watershed from tomorrow, as “a gritty interpretation”.

“You have a huge proportion of militant, liberal atheists who are keen to dump on Christianity.
“They wouldn’t mock the birth of Muhammad , or anything to do with his life story. They wouldn’t ridicule Hinduism or Sikhism, but Christianity is their big target.”
Defending the drama, Mr Jordan, 52, said: “The story is told using modern language and the characters have modern attitudes.
“Personally, I believe in the immaculate conception but I think it’s perfectly understandable if people struggle with the concept. I think the questions asked in our drama are the kind that any man watching a prime-time TV drama in 2010 would quite reasonably ask.
“I think it perfectly believable that Joseph should get angry with his betrothed and only agree to take her with him to Bethlehem when she risks being stoned by angry neighbours.
“If my own wife came to me and said: ‘Tony, I’m having a baby which isn’t yours but, don’t worry, I was visited by the Angel Gabriel and it’s actually God’s baby,’ I think I would feel more than a little miffed.”
“Don’t forget that those who wrote the gospels were doing so from a distance of 200 years.
“I am doing the same thing – interpreting an event that took place a long time ago – and I don’t see why my version of the story shouldn’t be valid, too.”
Actress Tatiana Maslany, 25, who plays Mary, said: “If you took the names Mary and Joseph out, it could be a story about any two people in love.
“It isn’t so much about the belief in God, but the belief in enduring love, in love that can hold people together even in the most difficult circumstances.”
Garrow’s Law star Andrew Buchan, who plays Joseph, said: “Joseph is a real man in our story. He’s like a guy in 2010 who goes away and comes back to find his wife or girlfriend pregnant.
“Of course he’s going to think she has slept with another guy and challenge her.”
A Church of England spokesman said: “Tony Jordan’s adaptation presents a gritty interpretation of the events of the first Christmas.
“We hope it will bring home the story of Jesus being born in a humble stable to many new viewers.”

BBC faces fury for portraying Virgin Mary as rape victim
by TARA CONLAN, Daily Mail
A BBC documentary suggesting that the Virgin Mary was raped by a Roman soldier has provoked a deluge of complaints and been censured by the Vatican.
More than 500 viewers called to protest about the nature of the programme, making it the most complained-about documentary this year.
Vatican spokesman Cardinal Martins Jose Saravia said: ' This was a programme that did not honour the BBC. It was silliness, old stories that every now and then resurface and that have never had any historical support.
'When space is given to these legends, the truth is twisted.'
Cardinal Saravia, who is the head of the Vatican's committee for the causes of saints, said: 'Above all, as a Christian, I am simply mortified that something like this should be shown so close to Christmas.'
The programme, called The Virgin Mary and shown an hour before the 9pm watershed on BBC1 on Sunday, suggested that Jesus was conceived after his mother was raped by a soldier when she was 12 or 13.
The programme, presented by The Royle Family actress Sue Johnston, had attracted criticism before it was broadcast.
Roman Catholic Bishop of Portsmouth, the Right Reverend Crispian Hollis, wrote to BBC director general Greg Dyke accusing the corporation of offending millions with a speculative and offensive documentary.
He said: 'The Virgin Mary is clearly a person whose life and times are immensely important to the whole of Christian history.
'As mother of God, she is honoured and venerated by millions of Catholics and other Christians within these islands and all over the world.
'To include within a historical examination of her life confused and unfounded guesswork which carries with it crude and offensive speculation, is not only unscholarly but runs the risk of undermining the very integrity of the project itself.'
John Beyer, of television lobby group Mediawatch, said: 'This is unacceptable for a public service broadcaster like the BBC.
' Many licence fee payers are Christian and the BBC is trying to undermine the celebration of Christmas so close to the feast itself.'
Alan Bookbinder, the BBC head of religion and ethics, and the producer of the programme, argued that it gave a 'sense of wonder at her miraculous story'. He added: 'Above all it shows a respect for the special place Mary has in the hearts of believers.'
A BBC spokesman said: 'We knew tackling the Virgin Mary was always going to be a sensitive subject but we stand by the programme. We feel that it was a very sympathetic portrayal of Mary.'
With around 500 complaints, The Virgin Mary almost equalled the number of calls made over what was seen as a lack of respect in the BBC's coverage on the day the Queen Mother died.
There was a similar number of complaints earlier this year when BBC2 screened the documentary, The Hunt For Britain's Paedophiles, just after the watershed.
Some complaints came from distressed victims of paedophiles.
Although the BBC issued a warning before that documentary, many viewers were still unprepared for the harrowing scenes it contained.
These complaints fell far short, however, of the several thousand protests during this year's Wimbledon after the BBC cut short coverage of a match that over-ran its timeslot. The record for the highest number of complaints for a non-sporting programme is Channel 4's Brass Eye whose reviled paedophilia spoof last year brought 2,500 protests.
