Look at it this way Carl, that's another 3.5million people, or just about 5% of the population, who are going to be thinking more about the 'service' they receive from the BBC, especially when the BBC pay for so many of their staff to go to junkets events that they really want to watch report on. Expect to see more 'interesting' sports on BBC though, like snooker and darts - can you think of a more interesting way to spend your week?

I did note that when the BBc ran this on news24 Paul Stoddart (Minnardi) was less than impressed. However the presenter not sure who as I was only half watching noted that the BBc couldn't afford to pay the money for the rights and they had to give value for money to it's customers. No irony there than.
However as you note they can afford to send a phalanx of it's staff to Glastonbury etc. Is it really necessary to send the weather girl and the sports presenter and another reporter from breakfast to Wimbledon for instance. Along with a couple of newsround presenters and who knows how many others.
I thought the BBc got prety good value from F1 on Saturday you have qualifying which is just over two hours. Then on Sunday the race which is 3 hours plus. Then of course the repeats. Then of course at the end of season they can lash together an end of season resume and obviously repeat that as well.
Still I expect to fill in the time we could have "Hole in the wall", "Total wipeout" or some similar high quality programming or perhaps some more repeats of "Dad's Army". Grief.

Talking of 'Total Wipeout'. You have to give the BBC credit for taking a show that should be exciting and humorous and making it as boring as possible, much to the credit of Richard Hammond. If you've seen the USA version of this show you'd have to enjoy watching paint dry to find the UK version endurable.

Who needs the b-bbc?
I've just been watching side splitting stuff from stand up comedian George Galloway on Press TV.
HaHaHaHa.
