When I read the following story, and the hyperbole used by the BBC Controller, Charlotte Moore, to describe some upcoming programmes, I have to wonder just who is taken in by this garbage?
One must assume that some will be since she wouldn't be describing it in such a way otherwise. See what you think of the 'visual feasts' coming to the BBC, and if the prospect fills you with as much excitement as Moore implies.

The BBC will be brave and take risks, says one of its controllers as she revealed the corporation will go behind the scenes of KFC next year as part of its drive to appeal to a more diverse audience.
Charlotte Moore, BBC One controller, unveiled three new programmes for 2014, including a drama Our Girl about a female soldier going out to Afghanistan and a comedy following the lives of three retired couples as they adapt to their children leaving home.
Moore, who took over the position six months ago, said she wants the channel to “take risks and be brave” in 2014, and not focus exclusively on ratings or one particular genre.
“I want to find programmes I think will appeal to a big audience,” she said.
“It’s about being brave, it’s about taking risks and allowing enough creative headroom. I want people to understand the world from different perspectives.
“It’s a very exciting time at the BBC at the moment. There’s this really impetus to think the BBC and BBC One should be at the top of its game.”
Moore said the Inside KFC series, which will follow the lives of workers at the fast food chain from managers to chefs, will gain “unprecedented access” to the global brand, at a time when as a nation we are obsessed with food.
She added: “It’s about how these institutions such as KFC, which may not be the National Health Service or nationally owned, but are ones where we are behind their existence. We are not doing an investigative documentary but I think there is a way to make these documentaries feel very real and authentic.
“I have no idea how they transport that amount of chicken around the country or how they get behind the next family bucket message.”
Another new commission, a six part comedy series called Grey Friends written by Richard Pinto, will follow the lives of three retired couples as they adapt to the reality of their children leaving the family home. Starring Russ Abbott, Stephanie Beacham and Alison Steadman, Moore said she was looking forward to it appearing on television screens.
“Comedy is a gamble every time,” she added. “It’s so subjective. We don’t have anything like Grey Mates around at the moment. We’ve got Miranda and Mrs Brown’s Boys and Citizen Khan, I love the diversity of all these shows.
“We are not scared of being edgy and provocative. It’s about the diversity.”
Moore also said that the big programmes on the channel, such as Sherlock, Dr Who and the Voice – which will include Kylie Minogue on its judging panel – would remain and be developed. She said she also believed Musketeers could be one of the bigger shows for BBC One in 2014 and said: “I think it’s fun focusing on something that everyone feels they have an association with.
"Drama on BBC One is all about the breadth and this is extremely high production value.
"It's one of the bigger pieces that shows the ambition of BBC One."
Moore also said the move of the Great British Bake Off, which she originally commissioned, from BBC Two to BBC One would not change the show and said it was a “quintessentially” BBC One programme.
She added: “When a show peaks at nine million viewers I’m not feeling a huge need to change it. I don’t think moving it to BBC One will change the integrity of the show. But with its success, it would be very strange not to put it at the front of your shop wouldn’t it?
“I’m a real believer that narrative and storytelling is what drives an audience to keep watching.”
Moore warned against over reliance on feedback from social media, as she admitted people making comments on Twitter were a smaller portion of BBC One’s key audience.
She added: "If you want to have a conversation with your audience social media and Twitter is a great part of that. I love being able to watch reactions in a very live reactive way. But it would be mad to think you are going to make your creative judgements on that. It's a very small part of our audience."
