On the BBC Wales News early evening Sunday 29th June 2014 the second half of the bulletin was devoted to Peter Hain (South African-born Lab MP for Neath) and Nia Griffith (Irish-born Lab MP for Llanelli) giving their opinions on Prince Charles's contacts with government ministers.
Peter Hain's contribution could at best be described as "damning with faint praise" when he said that Prince Charles had contacted him in connection with his own interest in alternative medicine when he was Northern Ireland minister, but those contacts and similar ones with English ministers had come to nothing.
Nia Griffith's offering was actually an excerpt from a previously broadcast programme in which she said that anything Prince Charles wrote to anyone should be made available for all to read, in the interests of transparency. Transparency, I imagine, does not extend to any of her private correspondence as an MP.
